{"id":58,"date":"2018-09-30T15:18:49","date_gmt":"2018-09-30T14:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tystofte.demo.nedeco.ninja\/?page_id=58"},"modified":"2024-12-04T11:41:46","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T10:41:46","slug":"historie","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tystofte.dk.web08.webtohosting.dk\/en\/om-tystoftefonden\/historie\/","title":{"rendered":"History"},"content":{"rendered":"<section id=\"content\" class=\"container page\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12\">\n<p>Tystofte Experimental Station was inaugurated on 1st April 1886 by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/da.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peter_Nielsen_(botaniker)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peder Nielsen<\/a>, former schoolteacher at \u00d8rslev school. He was a very well-known man in the area for his knowledge of botany and interest in experiments with fodder crops, which he had grown on a school plot. At that time, the experimental station had 20 t\u00f8nder land.<\/p>\n<p>On 20 June 1891, Peder Nielsen was granted land by Castenskiold of Borreby and now possessed 54 acres. After Peder Nielsen's death in 1897, the State leased the experimental station for a year. Thereafter, C.V.B. Castenskiold sold Tystofte experimental station to the State on 1 April 1899 for DKK 50,000.<\/p>\n<p>A great deal has happened at Tystofte since April 1st, 1899.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 December 2014, TystofteFonden was established as an independent commercial fund by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Estate Fund<\/li>\n<li>Pajbjerg Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Abed Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Sejet Plant Breeding I\/S<\/li>\n<li>DLF-Trifolium A\/S<\/li>\n<li>KWS Scandinavia A\/S<\/li>\n<li>The Sugar Beet Cultivation Trial Fund<\/li>\n<li>Syngenta Nordics A\/S<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2018, we inaugurated our new main building, which houses modern facilities such as offices, laboratories, meeting rooms, dining facilities, flexible spaces, and a seed bank.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the farm's old main building was demolished. Some of the farm's buildings have been preserved, but the interior has been extensively altered. New barns and greenhouses have also been built, and we now have approximately 170 hectares of land, including leased land.<\/p>\n<p>TystofteFonden is professionally responsible for carrying out the statutory variety testing of agricultural plants and lawn grasses, as well as control cultivation in connection with the certification of propagation material. The statutory variety testing includes a mandatory testing of new varieties for inclusion on the variety list and an offer of testing for the purpose of securing plant variety protection.<\/p>\n<p>TystofteFonden is also responsible for the daily administrative tasks relating to statutory variety testing, including the reception of applications for variety list inclusion and plant variety protection, including the processing of these, cooperation with foreign countries regarding technical\/professional cooperation, including the reception and despatch of reports, the processing of name proposals, the publication of \u201dMeddelelser fra Sortsafpr\u00f8vning\u201d (Announcements from Variety Testing) and \u201dBeskrivende Sortslister\u201d (Descriptive Variety Lists), as well as the preparation of fee invoicing and the basis for the actual invoicing.<\/p>\n<p>In short, newly developed varieties must undergo a test (SES test for\u00a0<u>S<\/u>eternity,\u00a0<u>E<\/u>Started and\u00a0<u>S<\/u>(stability), where they are compared with existing approved varieties on the market, in order to establish whether they are distinctly different from the existing approved varieties, that they can be approved and marketed as an independent variety.<\/p>\n<p>The value test is carried out to ensure that the new varieties have better yield, cultivation, and\/or quality properties compared to existing varieties.<\/p>\n<p>As of 1 January 2017, the Danish AgriFish Agency transferred the authority for tasks related to the certification of seed and seed grain to TystofteFonden. The Foundation is responsible for certifying seed and seed grain and approving vegetable seed in accordance with current legislation, and for carrying out the preceding controls. The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries will supervise the Foundation's performance of the certification tasks and handle any complaints related to certification.
