Compensation for deficiencies in seed grain produced in the 2024/2025 season

Under Ersatzregeln für Saaten 1997 ist eine Entschädigung für Partien zu leisten, die die geltenden Qualitätsnormen nicht erfüllt haben.

Here you can see the overview of liable parties in 2024/2025

The overview has been compiled by the Compensation Fund for Seed Grain, based on the Tystofte Foundation's information on certified seed grain batches for the season.

Basis for Replacement

The producer of a seed lot with attributable defects shall pay compensation, cf. clause 7 of the compensation rules, on the basis of the price in Annex 1 or the sales price to the final buyer. This applies even if the lot has been sold at a lower wholesale price. If compensation has been paid on the basis of the set price, and the buyer later provides documentation that the seed has been purchased at a higher price, the producer shall pay the difference.

Appendix 1: Price overview for varieties of seed grain for which batches are subject to compensation in the 2024/2025 season

In cases where it is not possible to use the price given by the final buyer for the seed corn, compensation shall be calculated based on the prices set out in Appendix 1. Variety and category have been taken into account when setting the prices.

Documentation for compensation paid to the final buyer must be submitted by the company to the Seed Grain Compensation Fund no later than 12 January 2026.

When companies are to report compensation paid to end purchasers, Annex 2 is used. An explanation of how to use the form is in Annex 2 of the compensation rules. The compensation rules for seed corn can be found her.

Appendix 2: Information to the Compensation Fund regarding compensation paid out on a compensable portion of seed grain

The production company is responsible for completing the form for each eligible batch and for submitting it to the Compensation Fund for Seed Grain. This also applies to batches sold through intermediaries.
