Control cultivation

Control cultivation is an essential part of the overall foundation for the certification of seed and seed grain.

During control cultivation, it is checked whether the batch is true to type and the content of other varieties is determined. Batches used for breeding must always be control cultivated, while the last generation only needs to be checked by random sampling, as stated in the current regulations. Announcements.

During the control cultivation, samples of different batches of the same variety are sown next to each other. Assessment is made by comparing the plants during growth with an official standard sample of the variety.
